Timothy Murphy, our $500 recipient, is the son of former Bradford College Writing Professor, Richard Murphy.

A local graduate of Swampscott High and Boston University, Timothy will be attending Tufts University this year to pursue a Master's in School Psychology. Timothy writes, "As a school psychologist, I hope to work directly with students as a practitioner, providing mental health counseling and guidance to help students grow emotionally as well as academically.”

Tim is well prepared for psychology studies, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology. He has also volunteered for Horizon's for Homeless Children, helping homeless kids have a safe and stable play space as well as assisted with the Cambridge Community Arts Center after school program. In addition, Tim has worked overseas and done unique field research in animal behavior at Palo Verde Research station in Costa Rica.
